In the Spring of 2026 our lab assisted our colleagues from Oregon State University in populating a temperature gradient mesocosm experiment to better understand temperature thresholds for primarily larval amphibians but also other freshwater organisms. We used various sampling technqiues such as dipnetting and stovepiping to collect our organisms from wetlands in Corvallis, Oregon. The temperature treatments in the mesocosms ranged from 0°C to 10°C with each treatment increasing by 1°C. Each mesocosm was populated with field relevant densities of pacific chorus frog tadpoles. This project was run by PhD candidate Courtney Hendrickson in Dr. Garcia's lab.
